by Herb_Master » Apr 8th, '09, 19:34

Has anyone heard of the potters : Jiang Jian Ping and Ren Jiang En

Has anyone heard of the Poets : Li Bai and Lin Shang Yin

I have recently seasoned and started using 2 pots from the studio of the above named potters. They were picked up for a pittance if the accompanying sales pitch is accurate. Not to worry if it is not for I love them. 30$ each from an Ebay Clothes retailer who had picked them up in a warehouse clearance.

Both come with accompanying certificates which are are practically identical.

The first one I have christened - Li Bai - Everyone Born With Genius
Image
Because the Sales Pitch included these words
Verse: a famous poem of Li Bai (most well-known Chinese Poet). That “Everyone is born with certain genius which must be shown one day, therefore, one should not be afraid of the loss of fund ”is the most popular sentence. Many people have chosen it as a motto to cheer oneself. Just a little faith you can go through!
Letters on the bottom: a treasure in art, hand made by Ren Jiang En
and this should be a quote from the poem

and this should identify Ren Jiang En

The sales pitch on Ebay for this pot was
Calligraphy: Moisten Cloud Around Mountain Calligraphy on handle: drink out long life
This item is gorgeous and magnificent named of such a romantic designation. It is ultra rare that there is a complete poem circled round the intriguing landscape. The author has spent a lot of time and efforts in design and creation. The painting is about the scene on the hill. There is a temple hiding in the forest. Thus the designation of “Moisten Cloud” is so poetic. The drawing seems to be something alike traditional Chinese painting. The engraving is both powerful and spiffy. Sentiment combines with scenery quite well. All appeal that the maker has a quite good command of handcraft and carving. The clay is well-chosen. Handle has a sense of high quality. The lid closes well and water pours out fluently. No wander a crackajack teapot charming for Chinese culture. Artistic conception goes beyond the landscape and deeply affects everyone. The poem carved is known as a piece of famous culture gem in Chinese verse. Moreover, an excellent teapot is always of gentle shine entirely before maintaining. Knocked slightly with edge of the lid, it emits a ring of rhyme revealing perfect pottery process. It is precious even rare and deserves the first choice to gift others.
Capacity:320 CC Clay: red clear water clay
Workroom: Sunny

Jiang jian ping

Jiang jian ping, famous industrial artist. Also a member of China Industrial Art Institute. Plenty years’ experience in Zisha art. Under the guide of several national rank pottery artists, he achieves to have his own style and comprehension. His pots are hot for traditional and elegant.

Ren jiang en, industrial art assistant, elite young pottery artist, also a member of Yixing Pottery Institute. Under the edification of Zisha culture since his childhood, he is of great passion in pottery. Due to the guide from masters, he is now almighty and quite skillful in square, unique and carved pattern creation. His artworks have won several medals at national level.
So these 2 if genuine are from his assistant!

Has anyone heard of Jiang Jian Ping - or know where I could acquire one of his pots?

I like the pot above, but find the balance and feel of the second pot even nicer.

I have christened it
Separated Lovers - Li Shang Yin
Image
The verse on the reverse side
Image
should confirm the sales pitch
Verse: a most popular nameless poem by Li Shang Yin. The two lovers rarely union and are often separate. They both devote their affection. Fortunately, their hearts get share. If gift it to your loved one, it is most meaningful and romantic. Letters on the bottom: a treasure in art, hand made by Ren Jiang En

"clear water clay" is literal translation of qing shui ni (清水泥); I believe hong (red) qing shui ni is also called "hong pi long"
