It was really wonderful, reminded me just a bit of my favorite bi luo chun, but bright and sweet, no astringency at all, and just a hint of the nutty flavor I like so much. Very delicious. I went 5 steeps, and I'm going to do one last long one to see what results.
Moving on to a darjeeling next I think.
Did you get any floral or fruit with the mao feng?
OK, I confess, I have not tried the PuttaBong. Really mixed reviews on it, so it seems.

Just finished both the Yang yan and DJL this afternoon

What interesting DJL this is, almost like a assam. Anymore background on it Sal?
Lemon Grass, Sanddlewood, hint of mild muscat in the middle notes. Fresh and full of youth. Lingering lime finishes. Wonder how would this taste if it's made into red tea?

And for the Yang Yan. I could not pin point what it is.... yellow mellon? Grassy? little sweetness with unripe banana finish. Not long and lingering like a good Long Jing. Maybe I brew it too gently? 2 teaspoons with 60ml 90 degrees water, until brew color turns light greenish yellow.

Thanks again for all the interesting samples Sal!

Funny I had an opposite reaction than I was expecting. I thought the Puttabong, was just "nice". I was really expecting it to be more. More depth, more body, more anything. The Mao Feng on the other hand, was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed this one, and a shared a little at work and my co-worker, she liked it too.
I might wait till daughteroftheKing gets here to try the third.
Thanks for the opportunity to try these lovely teas, that I would not have had the chance to otherwise,
thanks again,
V.

The Mao Feng has now disappeared, mostly due to company. I was afraid I was going to ruin this stuff due to not being so good with green, but it seems to be a fairly forgiving one.
The only word I can really use to describe the Mao Feng is mellow. Steep after steep it retains a smoothness that just kept me coming back cup after cup. I caught mostly vegetal notes, but the last bit of the session something sweeter popped up.
Fantastic stuff!
The First flush was pretty good I thought. I'm still a Nilgiri devotee, but I wouldn't mind a cup of this anytime.

Some fantastic ff in my cup. Thanks, so floral and full-bodied, I'm impressed. I forgot one steep that went 5 minutes, still really excellent.
