I have one with the third character different. Instead of __北___ which means 'north', mine is the character 'south'. Does that mean my pot came from a 3rd factory?
I have seen 荊溪南孟臣製 pretty frequently as well. I am not an expert, but I believe #1 Factory used this seal.
Someone had posted 2 great images from a book of examples of both 4 character "中国宜兴“ and (I think) 6 character "...孟臣製" chops (all from #1 Factory) somewhere, but I can't find it right now. Anyone know where that image is?

Funny to look at the whole pot then the close up seal. The clay kind of not matching, or just me

It might just be heavy tea stain on the bottom of the pot.

Very heavy tea stain on bottom. I used to brew in a zisha saucer for years until I got a tea tray. I just never bothered cleaning the bottom.
