matcha shake?

Does anyone have any recipes they would like to share on making these?

I have just read some basics with matcha/soy milk/sweetener.

Just curious if anyone has made these and loves the way they come out.

I havent tried this myself as of yet, but I would imagine you could follow any basic milkshake recipe and instead of adding choclate, fruit, etc. use matcha.

Here is a smoothie recipie from teapigs

Matcha smoothie as created and served in Fifteen Restaurant London.

2g (approx 1/2 tea spoon matcha)

1/2 an apple,

1/4 a stick of celery,

2 sprigs mint

1/2 banana

1/2 a pear

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend

Matcha latte

1g (approx 1/4 teaspoon matcha)

200ml of milk

honey or sugar to taste

In a cup or mug use 60ml of warmed milk to whisk the matcha into a paste

Add the sweetener and the rest of the warmed milk, whisk well.

Matcha can also be sprinkled on fruit, cereal, added to cakes, chocolate

I take about 1/2 teaspoon of hersheys chocolate syrup and a heaping 1/4 teaspoon of matcha....mix them together. The viscosity of the syrup allows the matcha to dissolve without clumping......and adds a yummy background flavor. Then I fold it into a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. You could add milk and have a shake.

I plan to make some "matcha" shake. But I plan to use just green tea powder from Asian store. It's much less expensive than matcha, with a flavor very close to matcha and the major difference is the powder is not as fine as matcha powder in terms of the particle size. The particle size difference matters a lot in tea drinking but doesn't matter much in a shake. Most Asian bubble tea shop use green tea powder instead of real matcha, otherwise their matcha shake would be much more expensive :P

Of course there's always the matcha ice cream. Blend vanilla ice cream with matcha. I have never had nicer ice cream than that!
