Some sad news

by chamekke » May 8th, '09, 10:30

Yesterday I received word that my father has passed away. He was elderly, so in a way it shouldn't have been a surprise, but it was sudden and therefore a tremendous shock - and, of course, I loved him. Dad's home is three time zones away from me, so I am hastily making preparations to fly out within the next day or two. I'm an only child and the executor of his estate, so I have a big job in front of me now.

So my participation here will be pretty limited for the next couple of weeks, although I do hope to pop in on occasion for the sheer relief of it. TeaChat is really a wonderful haven of peace, enthusiasm, and unabashed tea-geekery. Times like this make me appreciate this place all the more.

Anyway, I just wanted to let all my ITD TeaBuddies know.

Cheers,

Julia

Julia, my sincerest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Tea is one of the better medicine in this trying time, and you can always find someone or many of us to share here :) Tim

Condolences Julia :(

I'm sure you will be busy in the coming weeks, but if overwhelmed -- drink some good tea, it will probably revive your spirits.

I'm very sorry. Keep a warm cup by you, and make some for your grieving family.

That is sad news. For some reason I always find some comfort in knowing that the person got to live a full life. Best wishes.
