Oooohhh, ahhhhhh, this topic really has me dreaming!!
We are going to our favorite place on Earth...Sanibel Island.
Specifically we'll be spending 19 days at our condo
(http://www.howdycondo.com)...We've got the air booked already.
Kids and their friends will be with us for 9 days then we'll be
kid-less!!!!!

Beautiful beach, great (flat easy) bike paths, great restaurants (hubby likes shrimp, I like grouper), no traffic lights, no high-rise buildings! Here'e a typical day: a walk on the beach at sunrise, a quick swim and then a soak in the sunshine to dry off. Hop on the bikes and decide which of our three favorite breakfast places to hit. Have tea with breakfast (last year I always brought my own) and then ride around a bit more. Back at the condo, maybe take another swim. Later in the afternoon you'll find me on the shady lanai with the ceiling fan going and a great book and a glass of iced tea...life is sooooo good! Sometime after the kids get up and moving we'll likely go for late lunch or early dinner. When evening rolls around there is usually time for another bike ride and a sunset walk on the beach. Thinking about Sanibel gets us thru the gloom and cold of winter!!!

I will definitely be bringing tea! This year I'm going to bring my new Den's tea pot (the $8.95 one) and leave it down there (in the owner's closet) so I'll be able to make my favorite Japanese greens "correctly".

I loved reading all the answers about everyone's vacation plans...and the pictures we've had posted today are wonderful!!!!

Those of you who aren't going to get away for vacation might think about at least treating yourself to a spa day. Last year for Mother's Day my family gifted me with a gift certificate to a local spa. I finally used it this week (it was about to expire). I got a wonderful pedicure and a whole body massage. The facility was beautiful and the way I scheduled it I left some time after the pedicure, so I got to sit in front of their fire place and relax (this alone was like a mini-vacation)...then the massage was wonderful. I had a bowl of matcha right before I headed there since I figured that would help with the whole relaxation idea!! It was a wonderful long dreamy afternoon and everyone deserves at least a little vacation!!!

Happy dreaming,
Dreamer

I'd love to see Ireland again, or England, or Alberta Canada. I'd love to visit Nova Scotia or PEI. A day at the spa sounds wonderful, too. The reality is that money is too tight, and I can't ever seem to find any time for myself.

So I guess my vacation this year won't happen. :?

I think we're just going to visit some local beaches this summer, on Cape Cod and on Annisquam. We often go to Stowe in the summertime, but not this year.

Only had tea twice today, Asamiya Benifuki and O-Cha YM shincha.
The YM is more complex than I thought it would be. It appears to be extra sensitive to temperature and time, so I'll need another session with it tomorrow night to work out the brewing kinks.

O-Cha Uji sencha bag earlier, I still think these are the best bags on the planet.

And to complete an O-Cha TeaDay, Shincha Kirameki with my wife in an new/old momiji tea set, first brewing in it.

Dreamer, we have been to Sanibel Island only once, but it is a truly beautiful location. The Ding Darling (sp?) was amazing as well.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

As far as I know, I am not going any where this summer for vacation. My fiance and I are currently working on planning a short trip to Florida for sometime in the fall, but that hasn't gotten beyond thinking what a nice idea it would be to go down there again.

Currently in my cup is a lovely later steep of Sakura Sencha.

I will probably go to Vancouver Island this summer.

Many steeps of shincha Fukamushi Sencha Supreme this morning. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this tea! This evening I'm indulging in Margaret's Hope first flush darjeeling.

We'll be heading to our time share in Orlando in a couple of weeks. We've owned this one about 25 years and really enjoy it. Our kids (now grown) "grew up" going there so we have lots of fond memories. :D
