Sad to say, but I had to do it!

Yes, Living in Florida and with the new tea tins we receieved - I had to move all of my tea inro the old tins where I can assure the darknesses the tea requires to keep it's fressness longer.

In my job a "controlled envirement" will reproduce great results, but in the real world (Orlando, Florida for example) I have noticed a real decreace in the true tase of the tea.

I'm also glad to have a bunch of empty tins that I have kept from Upton Tea Imports.

The new tins from Adagio are awesome, but it truly needs a opaque lid!
In God's Grace,

The lids of the new tins are treated to block UV rays.

Don't feel bad, you are not the only one to do it. I've been doing the same, but I've been going one step forward and soaked off all of the labels and then made my own so they all matched. I now have matching silver tins for my core teas which includes a mix of ones from adagio and ones from elsewhere like Lychee flavored Chinese black tea and broken up Puerh cakes.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the clear lids either, because regardless of the UV protection, I just do not understand why clear lids are better than dark lids. I do not need to observe my tea. That being said, I store my tea in a dark cabinet, so the clear lids do not bother me to much, but I would still like to see the old containers come back.

I tend to try to buy teas I like in bulk sizes and just find cheap sources of large glass jars to put them in, like this:

Are your jars UV-protected, or do you just not worry about the harmful effects of light?

I prefer the new tins by far to the older ones. They are stackable, the white looks better in my opinion, the clear lids are attractive, and the labels are by far more professional in appearance. Since the lid blocks the part of the spectrum that harms the tea (ultraviolet), there really isn't a problem as far as quality goes.

I do think it's a little anal to be moving them all into older containers and printing new matching labels for them. So anal retentive is it that it sounds like something I would do, but of course haven't because I like the new containers.

LOL. I know, I'm relieved that I like the new containers, because if I didn't, I'd probably want to transfer everything into the old ones as well. ;)
