Just got me one of these for work.

I've had a plastic type that I don't use.
It's been a long time seeking all glass.
And it fits the insulated sleeve I already own from my EMS version.
However there IS a food grade type silicon seal on the inner lid.
I guess this need not touch the tea if one is careful.
You can take the seal out, but it'll leak if tipped. Also be very careful not to hit it, tip it, or bump it. I broke my first one because I had it in my backpack and set it down too forcefully. The outside was fine, but the inside glass snapped off. I got a new one and keep it in a sock inside my backpack for a little protection (don't worry, I use a clean sock).
I really like mine, but it is the thermos.
I don't think I'd bother trying to brew in one if
I had that basket anyway. I have two the 15oz and the 10oz.
The smaller is a nice size for hiding in my purse.
Like today.

Thanks for the tip.beachape wrote:You can take the seal out, but it'll leak if tipped. Also be very careful not to hit it, tip it, or bump it. I broke my first one because I had it in my backpack and set it down too forcefully.
I'll keep it in the EMS sleeve which has lots of padding anyway.
And, I am rather hard on stuff at work.

“Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone: “so I ca’n’t take more.”
“You mean you ca’n’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”
