Question about IngenuiTEA

by zippered » Jun 26th, '06, 13:10

I'm very new to loose tea and was thinking about purchasing the IngenuiTEA teapot. I've read a bunch of great reviews but I have one question that hasn't been brought up.

I'm the only person in my household that drinks tea. When I prepare tea in a traditional teapot, I remove the infuser after the appropriate amount of time and I have a couple of cups worth.

However, because the tea infuses directly in the IngenuiTEA teapot, wouldn't I have to "pour" all of the tea immediately after the seeping time to prevent my future cups from becoming bitter? I understand that I could always just make my tea one cup at a time, but boiling tea every hour would get inconvenient.

You do indeed have to pour off all the tea to prevent bitterness.
My tea ritual involves another tea pot. Just a cheap 14 ounce white one I got for a dollar. I steep the tea in Adagio's pot, then when I'm done, I pour it off into my white pot. I then pour myself my cups of tea from the white pot. I get around 3 cups, but that's because I use a proper tea cup when I'm at home.
Never trust a man who, when left alone in a room with a tea cozy, dosn't try it on.

I too use another pot to pour it into. I received a few different "pots for two cups" from people, so I use a different one each batch. It keeps it a little warm, and then I do heat it up later sometimes. :D

I just heat up a lot of water and then I keep it in a vacuum sealed thermos. Works pretty well for up to 2-3 hours and keeps you from having to re-heat water over and over.
