I just busted open my sample teabag of Den's GenmaiCha Extra Green and I though I'd give my initial impressions.
Opening the bag I found that there was a lot of sediment at the bottom of the foil. I figure that this is some of the matcha that it's dusted with. I also noticed that the tea and genmai in the bag were really fine... Almost appearing to be fannings / dust.
While brewing I did get a nice green color and that familiar genmaicha aroma...

The flavor of this genmaicha was a little too mild for my liking... It may do in a pinch but I'm hoping for better results from the loose version of this product. I can see possibly bringing this bag when I'm on the road for my job and need a quick cup.
Upon dissecting the bag I found that my initial impression was accurate... The actual contents are very fine and had become somewhat of a green mush.

Again, the flavor isn't bad... Slightly sweet and nutty... It's just not as "In your face" as I would have liked.
Anyways... Just my thought,
Mike
