Hello Everyone,
I've been enjoying TeaChat for the last 2 or 3 years. Thought it was finally time to register. My name is Rich Perry and I'm a jazz musician in New York City. I've lived here for the last 32 years. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio.
I fell in love with Japanese tea in 1975 while on tour there with a big band. Ten years ago or so I was ordering tea mostly from Hibiki-an and shopping and asking questions at the Ito-En store in New York. I was introduced to Oolongs about 5 years ago. Fell in love again. Started ordering Taiwanese Oolongs from Hou De. I was never going to get into Puerh because I'd heard how addictive it was. It is! It happened about 3 years ago. I started reading the tea blogs voraciously and ordering from Yunnan Sourcing and Jing Tea Shop. About two years ago I discovered the Tea Gallery in New York. It was a life changer. I've learned so much from the wonderful owners of the Tea Gallery and the great people who I've met there, but they have also made me realize that I have barely scratched the surface.
I want to thank everyone at TeaChat. I've learned a lot and have been very entertained by what I've read here. My favorites sections to read are: Puerh, Oolong, and Teaware.
Thanks again everyone!
