Thanks Brad, that's exactly the kind of interesting info/history I was talking about. The Tea Horse Road reminds me of the creation of the Russian Caravan teas. I also like the story behind the creation of Lapsang Souchong.

Chip, if you don't mind me asking, where can those O-Cha Uji teabags be found online?

They can be found HERE!

I only use them when I am eating out. But they are honestly the best teabag I have ever had.

For me it's the leaf. I think that's why I love oolongs. The tightly rolled oolongs draw me in - each steep revealing more of the character and look of the leaf. I love to examine the fully unfurled leaf and think about all the work it took to get them to me.

An Autumn Oolong today.

For me its because I live on the edge and I like to be totally different than the norm :)

Also its because I love to drink tea! I love the variety, i mean there's no way that you can ever know what all tea is like in your lifetime, there's just too many teas. Its like wine, except for me a bottle of wine lasts a day (if i'm lucky), while a bag of tea will last me a bit longer (and more worth the price).

I also learning about the history of tea too...

Okay so maybe i'm a combo of many things!

+1!
I forgot to vote in the poll with the excitement of my birthday!
Well, also maybe because I agree with emeraldrobot 8) :!:
Guess I would have to go with it's all about the leaf, but seriously all would work.

Pictures forthcoming of my stash of our 'local artisians' teawares that I received as gifts from 'the mod', and some other 'tea' goodies too! Stay tuned.

Whoa! Sort of slow biblical mini plagues. :)

I hope you miss out on the whooping cough. Actually, I hope you missed out on the lice as well.
So far so good. I'm waiting for the plague of locusts, though.

Thanks auggy/aka 'The Pink Monkey' and emeraldrobot! Also many thanks to all who so thoughtfully wished me a wonderful Happy Birthday yesterday! It was definately a great day spent w/DH, drinking tea and doing a lot of 'tea related' activities!

Just got word that our 'Hagi' is on the way to our house...Yipee:)
What a great FridayTeaDay!
