I can make the indian place run out of masala chai ta hee hee! I have bothered the owner so much about chai, kinda feel sorry for him. He knows when its me ordering over the phone...hahaha "hey wuts up mannnnn!!!" "gimme a gallon of chai please"
I would LOVE to have you as a customer! ;-)
I only wish there was a good tea house here tea-guy! wellllll there is supposedly but I am scared of walking inside AHH! If I am ever in Cincinnati i will visit your tea house, and will defeat my previous tea consumption records.

I have such an addictive personality...hahah

I just went to the indian restaurant to get a meal and currently drinking some masala chai with gobi manchurian and aloo paratha (a mango lassi to even out the extreme spice!)... I think I was his only customer so far today :( , too bad people are so into the greasiness, rather than healthiness +goodness. Craving some Sae midori still....

Here is one of the beauties we used this morning...

Feels great with the carved facets and overall shape. Please check out the other cups in the Show Off Topic and TeawareArtisian chicagopotter's thread.

Just had genmaicha while out for a quick lunch...

By all means!

The Walmart bowl in the photo has not replaced the reliable pie plate. Though it looks somewhat better, its sides are too steep and there isn't enough flat real estate at the bottom to make me happy, so I don't usually use it.

There is nothing that I remember. My expectations for restaurant tea are generally low to begin with. There was one place by where I went to college that had decent tasting dark oolong that went well with the all you can eat sushi bar at the buffet. The only other place I will get tea is the Japanese Hibatchi grill, where they also have a dark oolong as the tea though it tends to be over steeped. I have had nice conversations with the waitresses at our favorite diner when I bring a fill-your tea bag and loose leaf or a travel mug of tea. They just tend to be curious about my tea since they only serve no-name black tea bags and Lipton flavored green tea bags.

Currently in my cup is a peach chai blend created by Kymidwife from the Signature blends box pass. Out of the three chais that I have tried so far, I like this one the best. The peach mellows out the spice of the masala chai, but it still has a nice zing to it.

No stories here really. I do have a favorite restaurant that has a very decent tea menu. They're not quite a victorian tea parlor but they are like a modern take on it. My usual sushi place serves the blandest sencha made with boiling water, so hot that I often wait until after my meal to drink it. Unless someone is a tea drinker they just think all there is to it is adding hot water.
