>I don't know how many times I have tried to explain (the love of tea) that to people, only to have their eyes glaze over in disinterest.

Oh, ain't it the bitter truth? Worse, you find someone who shares an interest in English vintage and antique china/porcelain, only to find they brew nothing but cheap teabag tea or fufu flavored / flowering versions (read: crappy tea doctored with fruity/flowery additives). The first time you make them a proper pot of quality loose tea, they don't even recognize the flavor!

Roasted kuki-cha in my cup presently. DongDing earlier on this afternoon.

I LOVE learning about tea...the plant, the processing, and the culture all around drinking tea.

One of the most amazing things I've learned is that all "real" tea comes from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis...and that the differences are in the hybrid, the soil, the climate, the care (i.e. shading the plants, etc), the picking, the processing, the storage, and the brewing! I am continually amazed (and grateful) that this one plant gives us all so many different experiences!!!

Still on vacation here on Sanibel...enjoyed Nilgiri with breakfast on the lanai this morning and LOTS of iced tea (my own assam/ceylon blend) thru the rest of the day.

Happy sipping,
Dreamer
