Thought I wanted to cut the grass.......in the mean time I forgot I had my 1 month old 2 liter yellow lin's ceramic kettle on the induction plate.
Afterward returning back to make tea nothing noticed until I poured water to bring to a boil......it leaked
Felt like sharing, still debating whether i should order another one

I feel for you. I have broken both of the lid's on my Lin's kettles. I have since purchased a Iron kettle so maybe it will not be so fragile.

uffda. That's awful. Hope you have a backup. This is why I only heat my kettle with a bellows that must be pumped by hand.

I'll try to post a picture, but I have resorted back using my Tetsubin. Clay kettle didn't need drying out after a session.
Sorry to hear you broke your lids 'CDS' do you find that clay kettle makes the water better tasting than your iron kettle? I certainly prefer water boiled from the Lin's kettle.
Good to hear from Salsero also

I love them both. I really like the Lin's, which I still can use, for certain Oolongs, but love the Iron for other teas. Especially sheng puerh! I have only had the Tetsubin for 3 weeks, so I am still getting used to it.

I wasn't sure that you could use an induction heater with clay. Did it work well? Compared to a tetsubin? Fast?

Neither did I the accompanying brochure said the kettle had some magnetic coating on its bottom safe for induction use.
This fact the Lin's site doesn't mention.
It was very fast with Induction plate, much faster than my cast iron hot plate.

Good call, I have discovered much the same. Tetsubin and oolongs (esp Wuyi) are not always a match made in heaven. Works great with a clay kettle though.
