PersonaliTEA safe and lead-free?

I am definitely interested in getting a PersonaliTEA... however, I am concerned because some pottery/ceramic items can be dangerous if they leach lead. (http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/CONSUMER/CON00081.html). Generally speaking, products made in US/Canada/Western Europe are held to known standards, but those from elsewhere aren't necessarily safe.

Is it possible to get more information on the manufacturing and safety of the PersonaliTEA?

They should be safe, after all Adagio is a US company selling tea and teaware in the US so it should be safe to assume that all of their products need to meet FDA standards.

I wonder where Adagio gets/imports their teaware from, though, and it'd be nice to be sure. I'm not entirely prepared to risk my mental and physical health just for a nice teapot.

Has anyone seen this logo on their pot?

The pot actually has no logo on it at all, and I remember nothing from the box it came in

If you are that concerned about whatever or not the teaware meets FDA safety regulations contact Adagio customer service and ask them about it.

Hello all,

We are not allowed to import pots that are not approved by the FDA. That being said, the personaliTEA is safe and you can enjoy using it without the fear of ingesting lead. Drink away!
