How do I post a review?

by Miss Lori » Mar 26th, '06, 20:31

Hello everyone,

How do I post a review of a tearoom on the TeaMap? I just visited a lovely one today that has no reviews, and I wanted to remedy that!

Thanks,

Miss Lori

There should be a link on the lower right side that says "add your own review".

Miss Lori - I see you're in Philly (as am I): what tearoom did you visit?

Tea With An Accent, in Yardley. I had High Tea there Sunday. Wonderful! The room is lovely, decorated with all kinds of china and tea-themed things. The servers wore black dresses with white lacy aprons and were very friendly and helpful (though I do wish they'd poured the tea and water a bit more frequently). We had a delicious cheddar vegetable soup for starters, two kinds of tea, four kinds of tea sandwiches, lovely warm, moist scones, and several kinds of cookies and tea cakes. Everything was delicious and very fresh. They have a little gift shop and also sell their teas - try Lily's Delight, a black tea with hints of vanilla and bergamot. I loved it.

LavenderPekoe, do you mean the link "Contact this Tearoom"? I don't see anything that says to add a review.

Oh, I've been meaning to go to Tea with an Accent - my boyfriend's parents live in Yardley and I drive by it often.

Have you tried the new teahouse in Newtown? That's another one I mean to try.

I've got to stop by soon!

Usually it is right below that. It seems that they are not allowing reviews??

Yeah, I took a look too, and couldn't find the link on the page. I was thinking the same thing.

How strange. I wonder why anyone would specifically opt to not have reviews. It sounds kinda not good - if you hadn't had such nice things to say, Miss Lori, I would have guessed it's because they aren't very good and don't want people sharing that information.

I wonder why they wouldn't want to be reviewed.

My guess would be that they have seen some of the emotionally-charged reviews/threads, and decided that they didn't want to be a part of it.

Their prerogative. Although, to be quite honest, I'd be more likely to go to a tea room with an average review, than one with no reviews at all. But that's just me.

Hi,

My name is Shari and I own Tea with an Accent. I would like first of all thank the person who posted the wonderful review about us. I have chosen not to have reviews posted due to some of the "emotionally-charged reviews", etc. that I have seen posted about other tearooms. I understand that some people might think we choose not to have reviews posted because "we are not very good". We do post reviews (from newspapers, articles, etc.) on our website and will be expanding this area in the near future, where customers will be able to post their own reviews.

Just for the record, reviews on someone's web site carry very little weight when compared to reviews on other web sites.

Why? Because, in general, the company that owns the web site is only going to post the good reviews.

Because, I mean, when was the last time you went to a restaurant's web site that said "our food really sucks"?

Not that that's a bad thing. Just that positive reviews on a company's web site don't carry the same kind of weight as positive reviews on other sites.

If you would like to see reviews on our tearoom you can visit teaguide.net. They have specific guidelines about posting reviews and when you post a review you have to provide your e-mail address. This does not allow tearoom owners to post their own reviews as is evident in some reviews.
