Ok, so I went on vacation for two weeks, and when I am back, Teachat changed into a new layout.
I'm sorry to be a party pooper, but I am afraid I don't like it.
Specifically, I find it very hard to tell different posts apart, especially when people start quoting and posting pictures. I liked the old fashioned lines that separate different posts clearly. Now, we're down to colour changes, and I'm afraid it seems a little too busy to me when a lot of things are going on. This is especially true in the really long threads, such as those "Show off your pots and cups" ones.

We have been assured it is a work in progress and not the first makeover for some of us old timers.

Re: I don't like the new layout
I just posted a snippit of feedback in that thread. I think it was the first time in several months I posted somewhere other than ITD, so I scrolled back a bit to read the tail end of that thread.
We have a user called Mrs. Chip who's location is "sleeping in the teacave?" Mildly creepy...
I do like the "report post" buttons. Seems hella useful.

Oh God no. As a former "hella" addict, I am saddened to hear of your affliction. How did you pick that up outside the SF bay area?Mary R wrote:Seems hella useful.

Is it just me, or is opening multiple tabs on the forums also on the fritz?

Of course, I have to be the dissenting vote. I like it. Looks very clean and readable.
I'll crawl back under my rock and drink my tea now.

Re: I don't like the new layout
I'm finding I am increasingly happy with the new features, still hoping for many of those bug fixes though. But yeah, it's better.
Re: I don't like the new layout
I'm still pretty bothered by the large amounts of unused space. It seems like unless your screen's resolution is set at a (very low and) specific value, you're only going to be using about 1/3 of the screen, which I find idiotic.
On my screen, which admittedly is rather large, running at 1920x1200, it's just very, very inefficient, space wise.

Are you referring to the banner?
If so you can set it in your preferences now.
