Yep, my new favorite is usually the last one received. Ha! Currently, this one:

My pot that sees the most use is not a favorite, it's just so darn practical. It's a rather boring, small, roundish, and nondescript tetsubin.

This is my new favorite:

Image

It is from Yuuki-Cha, has a nice metal screen just in front of the spout, a beautiful pour, and even passes the "covering the hole on the lid to stop the tea from pouring out" test. It holds about 7.4oz, which is perfect size for filling up 3/4 of the way full to exactly fill up my favorite sencha cup. The swirl detail on the top of the knob and the shape of the side handle are what really makes me love it.

In my cup is Yuuki-Yutaka brewed in the above mentioned pot.

It is by far the thinnest pot that I have, and at $18.90 + $5.60 shipping it is also one of the cheapest pots I have purchased. The feel and appearance are just wonderful and it has evidence of the wheel all over ... it seems filled with life because of all the concentric circles.

It's 120 ml, my ideal size, exactly as advertised.
Salsero, I'd really like to know where you found your teapot if you don't mind, what a great color!

GrandTea.com in Hong Kong. They are all out now, but if you contact them they must be able to get more. The color is looking a little more cherry red on my monitor than the pot looks, but it's not too far off.

I prefer my tea ware as unique and vibrant as possible. I actually passed up a crystal glazed yunomi today because it was not colorful. It was a neutral tan. They actually had a neat mug that was teal and canary yellow with the crystal glaze. It was absolutely gorgeous, but I decided to wait on what I could find at the pottery fair in a few weeks.

Guilty about the joy of a great vacation...not a bit!! Only 49 weeks till the next time (unless we sneak in an extra before then)!

Where did you find your schweet new teapot??? (Edited...oops, it took me so long to get this to post that I see you've already answered this question! Thanks!)

Joy,
Dreamer

Another busy but great TD.

Yeah, although the favorite has changed several times. This Kenji kyusu has been on top of the list longer than any other.

Began the TD with Takumi from Zencha which was awesome. Next up Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. Finally Kunpu from Den's with DW.

Shincha hat trick!

My fave is a 9.5oz Mogake Hokujo kyusu. It's the pot that I break out when brewing my best sencha and gyo for my family. Beyond that, every other pot is also a fave.

Breakfast tea was Jing's traditional shui xian. Lunch tea was O-cha's Ujibashi San no Ma sencha. Afternoon tea was Kanro gyo in the Hokujo (family was over today).

I'm off to the Elizabeth Islands all day tomorrow! so it will be a slow TD.
