I was wondering if anyone on here has the steeping cup from the tea spot. It is a 8 oz cup that comes with a lid and a infuser. My main question is this, does it it make a good cup of tea? And if you have one, would you recommend it to someone else? Thanks for any help.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to make good tea with this kinf of infuser.
You can find similar infusers here

I don't know if anyone uses that specific cup, but that and similar styles of infusers are common in the tea world. I would guess the one you reference is a Korean style. There is also a Chinese version. Wikicha has a section on infusers here: http://wikicha.com/index.php/Getting_Started .
The description of the set you reference says you can put it in the dishwasher to clean it. I'm sure you can, but I avoid putting any of my teaware in the dishwasher because the harsh chemicals in dishwasher detergent will dull the finish over time.
PS, I think those cups can be pretty hot to hold when they are first filled with tea.

Re: A question about a steeping cup.
actually my wife has that exact cup ...we got it from frontier.
its ok..we dont really use it anymore though.. the holes in the "infuser" are a bit large for the teas she brews and we got a lot of particles through.
what she used now that is a bot more versatile since she can use it on about any cup she has is the newer "bodum yoyo" the stainelss stell one. its a much finer holed infuser. you can get it by itself or with a couple styles of their cups double walled glass or ceramic. but the infuser itself is made to work on just about any cup by design.

It isw funny you should mention that infuser. I was at my local Target this evening and was looking at that exact thing. Actually I was looking at the one that comes with the glass cup. I was also looking at the glass tea pot with glass infuser, I might actually get this.
Re: A question about a steeping cup.
I would go for the Bodum. I have this infuser, it can be used in other cups even smaller pots. I think you will be more pleased with this set, you can enjoy the color of the tea, and not have a too hot to hold cup!
Re: A question about a steeping cup.
Plus too, since the Bodum is at my local Target. I could go buy it and use it that night. Has anyone tried their glass pot with glass infuser?
Re: A question about a steeping cup.
I have another brand, but generally glass infusers are not so great. The get clogged easily. And they break easily. I usually usually replace the glass infuser with a metal or mesh one. But it's a matter of preference.

true! and to put an exlamation on it..the glass infuser..while pretty..just has a few very thin slits around the bottom.. the stainless one has much better flow for the waterVictoria wrote:I have another brand, but generally glass infusers are not so great.
