Late Night Tea

by FaerieNights » Jul 31st, '09, 06:49

hey fellow tea addicts!

i work night shift and am ever so thankful to have stumbled on this forum. something to help make the night pass by more quickly.

though ive always loved tea, i am new to whole leaf. a coworker introduced me recently when he brought in a yixing pot and whole leaf oolong. and with that, i was hooked!

ive ordered the green tea savant sampler from adagio; hopefully should come in the mail today. but please let me know your favorites to try!!

also, i love the artwork that goes into making teapots and bowls/cups so if anyone makes their own, let me know. id love to start my collection with some handmade items.

Victoria, what brand/type of oolong would you suggest?

Well if you are new to ooolong, why not start with Adagio? Please avoid the flavored ones. I would suggest a sample of Ali Shan, Ti Kuan Yin, #18, #40. Once you decide which of these you really prefer, there will be a whole new world to explore. :)

I agree 100% with Victoria. Flavored oolongs
The Ali Shan and Ti Kuan Yin are my personal faves on Adagio, as far as oolongs go. Wuyi Ensemble is also good.
Green teas, I like Sencha Overture and Dragonwell. You're getting Dragonwell with the Savant Sampler, and it looks like a Gyokuro. Good stuff!
