So, I'm looking for mote spoons, either antiques or reproductions. They are spoons with a pierced bowl to act as a strainer and a handle that tapers to a spike for removing clogs from teapot spouts. They were an 18th century invention. I've heard that the silversmiths in Williamsburg, Va make them, but for over a hundred dollars. Anyone know where I can find one for less?

The second photo from the bottom, labeled as a tea strainer, is what I am looking for. Anyone seen one around?
Re: Mote Spoons
there is a charming site that begins with e and ends w/ bay that has a bunch - from under $10 to $103, in sterling. Never knew what one was, and now I know - I might bid on one

Re: Mote Spoons
Hahaha, see that's the problem. I keep getting outbid on eBay
And I can see it getting so out of control. "Just one more dollar."
