Good TeaDay everyone. I have been a bit absent from here due to other forum projects such as the newest Hagi topic/offer. But I am hopefully back again.
Yes, a very light duty tea journal, not a daily journal but more of a tea by tea journal. However, after 10 years, I have grown very slack in even this.
Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. A great way to start the TD! SweeTea also began her TD with YM while LOTR Katz were looking for more action than sipping tea.

Re: Thursday TeaDay 9/10/09 TeaJournal?
No, and I'm not interested in keeping a tea journal either. I already take too many notes for school! Seriously, I'm developin' a claw hand over here.
Warming up on this slightly chilly afternoon with some Jing Xuan Ming Cha from the oolong box pass. It's tasty, but not really my thing. Too light.

I don't have a tea journal but I've been thinking on and off of starting a tea blog...maybe when I get to using some nicer teaware so I can combine another hobby of mine and post tea photos. Anyway idea would be more to document my tea journey than to write down specifics of the tea or how to brew it.

Re: Thursday TeaDay 9/10/09 TeaJournal?
I have always enjoyed trying new beers and used to keep a journal with reviews and tasting notes. After a while I found it to become a chore with not much payoff (I didn't go back much to reference it). I liked it much more when I could just sit down and enjoy a beer without feeling obligated to jot down notes as well. When I started drinking teas I decided I would not keep a journal. It's all part of the relaxing experience to me to be able to just focus on the tea.
Re: Thursday TeaDay 9/10/09 TeaJournal?
I have a folder in my google docs just for tea notes. I have one overall list with all the teas that I have tasted, what brewing parameters I used, rating, and basic notes. Then I have separate documents with more detailed notes on teas that were either interesting, tasty, took a while to figure out, or all of the above. I think there is also an ongoing list of teas I would like to purchase in the future. My blog is actually more focused on my cooking experiments than tea.
Cup is empty. Must be remedied soon. I think it might be a chai night.

Hi All,
I have kept some short notes (like when I got a bunch of Adagio samples and another time when I got a bunch of tea from taiwan samples) but that was just so I could remember when I got to the bottom of the samples what I liked.
This morning I was really craving Yunnan black, but I know the boy-kid was not liking it earlier in the week, so I went with a mild Ceylon (Nuwara Eliya). I drank it iced after the first cup at breakfast...it makes a pretty decent iced tea.
This afternoon, continuing into the evening, I'm working on a sample from Floating Leaves (Spring Lishan).
Happy TeaDay,
Dreamer

Yes! It is a necessary device because my sieve-like brain does not retain the particulars of detailed tea names and brewing times, and also because sometimes it is nice to write phrases like "caroby/roasty aroma flies right up into the nose!"

Nope, and probably don't need another project.
That being said, occasionally I talk about tea in my blog.
