by Chip » Sep 13th, '09, 01:54

Happy TeaDay everyone. Please stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the TeaDay.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Well, FunDay TeaDay. Have you ever wanted to be, or imagined you were, a FICTIONAL character in a movie or a book? If so, who, what, when, where, why?

Also, I wonder who will REPORT drinking the most tea today on TEADAY???!!!???

I am looking forward to sharing this FunDay TeaDay with everyone. Today, be who you want, want who you be. 8)

Yin or Yang

by Salsero » Sep 13th, '09, 02:00

I actually am a fictional character.

I'm not sure if this is the Yin or the Yang at the bottom of my DHP, but I'm pretty sure it's one of them.

Perhaps we all are already in the "novel" called TeaChat.

I said, yes, most certainly. Much too late ... or too early to share the 5W's. Perhaps after a good night's sleep and morning tea.

Heh, half of my life is fictional. I play a fictional character and create fictional realms for other fictional people to play around in.

My grandiose plans for tea drinking didn't quite happen yesterday, so I'm still tooling around with the American Hao 0904. Not that that's a bad thing. I'll try to move onto the 0905 later today.

On the plus side, our church is having an outdoor service today, and the weather looks like it'll be perfect. Now if only I could figure out what to bring for the food-fest afterward.... hmmmm.

Life can be stranger than fiction

Productive use of imagination: use it to visualize the success of you, accomplishing something amazing and wonderful that you thought couldn't ever be achieved.

Assume the extraordinary is possible and even probable by using this powerful creative tool to 'see it happen', to remove self-doubt limitations, to open yourself to opportunity.

To boldly go where no man has gone...

A robust high mountain oolong in my cup. Delicate, rolled Anxi oolong later on. It's an OOlong day in the sunny PNW.

Yes, I dabble a bit in writing and have for many years. I could easily "be" one of the characters in the various stories. I've never wanted to be any of the characters from TV, movies, or novels though.

Dublin Breakfast tea in the pot this morning. It's pouring rain here (again) so a cup of tea is a nice start to the day.

What little girl hasn't imagined herself the princess in the fairy tale? I love movies and books, and would dearly love to be able to immerse myself within a fictional world for an afternoon, a day, or longer.

Hey, I'm the one who went to 2 Harry Potter conventions last year, complete with costumes (basic witch and Death-Eater). I attended the midnight opening of movie #6 in costume (Bellatrix LeStrange). I am going to Disney next weekend for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with my sister and niece, and there is a costuming event... my sister is the Wicked Witch of the West (and we're painting her green), my niece is Dorothy, and I will be a flying monkey. Yes, I have a monkey suit and wings. :)

How interesting that I am always choosing some dark and sinister character... probably because I live such a clean, boring, puritan life.

Japanese Koucha Black in my cup, mmmmm. Had the Japanese oolong yesterday, also mmmmmm.

Sal, it's either Yin, Yang, or Tadpole!

When I was younger my friends and I used to play Partridge Family, Gilligan's Island, and Brady Bunch and act out the episodes. That's as close as I ever got to wanting to be a fictional character.

No tea yet, the water is on the boil!

Growing up, my goal in life was to be a Jedi Knight. Sadly, that hasn't happened yet.

As for actual role play, we did LOTR stuff for a few years in high school for Halloween and movie premiers. I was Samwise. We did full costumes complete with furry feet and hobbit ears. Our group consisted of Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gandalf, and a Naz'gul. I've also spent a summer working at the Renaissance Festival, in full costume and character. I've always had a vivid imagination and love fictional novels so things like that come all too naturally to me.

In my cup is a no name, mediocre sencha.

Yep, Santa Claus...not the mall kind, but a Santa who could with just a look, a handshake, or an arm around a shoulder, have a child absolutely know that they are loved.

This morning I enjoyed a great breakfast on the deck with DH and it was made even more perfect by having SpecialTeas Yunnan Imperial...this tea is soooo good, especially with salty breakfast foods!!!

This afternoon I must have some Japanese green...haven't had any for a few days and I'm absolutely craving it...it will take me from  to 8)

Have a great day everybody!

I'm a voracious reader, and I'm sure I wanted to be many of the characters in the books I read growing up. I also (very briefly) wanted to be Tyler Durden from Fight Club.
Currently reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Sure don't want to be any of those.

Today has been a Silver Needle day in Palazzo Trey.

oooh, that's on my reading list. The repugnance of the characters notwithstanding, is it any good?

Yes, absolutely. I'm about a third done, and I like it very much. It's inventive and very well written. Escapism of the highest order. These things are individual, of course, but I feel somewhat confident that you can look forward to it :)

Do let me know what you think when you get to it.
