Re: Any tea that greatly improves concentration?
I have pretty poor concentration skills, and have not found a miracle tea for such an issue. However Matcha seems to produce a type of alertness that might aid in concentration. Since it tastes good too, it wouldn't hurt to try that route.
Re: Any tea that greatly improves concentration?
So I did some more research on matcha teas and I guess they improve mental alertness and is extremely high in antioxidants as well.
However, I still don't get how the process of making it work.
Would I just be able to add it to water or tea just like Ovaltine since it is powder?
Like I said, I'm new to this and I do apologize, and I see that they usually require 2 tea spoons to make for quite a small cup.
It seems heavy and frothy, do they taste green tea at all?

There seems to be 2 different japanese green tea powders. Sencha powder is normally added to water and stirred or used in cooking.SplitHeavens wrote:So I did some more research on matcha teas and I guess they improve mental alertness and is extremely high in antioxidants as well.

Matcha is usually made with a whisk and is whipped using about 60-70ml of water at about 75-80c. This makes a large espresso type drink covered in foam. It is an acquired taste. Go to any Japanese green tea seller and they usually will have a demo video showing the process.
Re: Any tea that greatly improves concentration?
I complete understand this. I got some jasmine #12 from here (the pearls) and the first few times I tried it I didn't like the jasmine aroma but something just snapped and all of a sudden I loved it. Once you enjoy that smell it's very soothing.Chip wrote:... might surprise some of you when I say this, but Jasmine Pearls (good ones) always relaxed me.
Yeah, matcha, but it can also have the opposite effect depending upon many factors, including "dosage."
Re: Any tea that greatly improves concentration?
Sencha always works for me; one of these days I'll try Matcha.
I see bags of powdered green tea from Japan in my local Chinatown
supermarket for about 6 bucks, I guess that must be powdered Sencha.
But since that's the whole powdered leaf you'd be ingesting, rather
than infusing for broth, you'd get ALL the constituents and it should be
quite the same effect, since Matcha is powdered Gyokuru.
I'm psyching myself out here...gonna get some!

Re: Any tea that greatly improves concentration?
Jasmine, like lavender, contains compounds that react with GABA receptors, inducing calmness through nervous system and muscle relaxation.
