Yet another boutique yixing seller

by dangert » Oct 20th, '09, 09:35

This time it is a blog-operated store in russian: http://chayiorg-ru.blogspot.com/search/ ... a%20teapot. To go to the previous page click on "Предыдущие" button on the bottom right corner of the page. The prices seem to be lower than HouDe and there are very interesting designs. If anyone needs translation from Russian, I will gladly help :D.

Thanks for posting!

The google translator does a pretty good job.

I was especially interested in this one

"Shi Pyao - Stone bucket with gilded calligraphy.

Master: Wan Qing Yuan.
Year of manufacture: 2009.
Clay: Zi Tiao Sha.
Capacity: 150 ml.
Description: A variation on the motifs of classical forms. Master coped well with it, adorning exquisite and elegant carving, calligraphy, which is covered with gold leaf. Masters Certificate is attached.
Recommendation: for green tea, little fermented oolong.
Price: 160USD"

Because a couple of years ago, I bought 3 very very similar ones from an ebay seller for about $12 each (yixing was not his normal line of business but he appeared to have obtained a warehouse clearance so I bought about 50 :D )

I shall have to post an entry with photos to see if any graphologists think they are from the same artist.

That will be interesting. I am currently browsing through his selection in order to find a teapot made of old zhu-ni.

About 15 get used often-ish, some are waiting until I move on to Hong Cha and Pu-Erh, others are 2nd hand and ornate, not sure if I will use them, Some are 300 - 400 ml and are waiting for a group of friends to arrive demanding tea, meanwhile I use those between 150 to 280 ml.
