Favorite tea shop in taiwan?

I'm planning another trip to Taiwan in Jan.
Anyone visit any must-go-to tea points of interest?

Where are you going to be travelling? In Tapei, definitely visit Wistaria (紫藤廬; zi teng lu) -- http://www.wistariahouse.com/ as a place to drink tea. They also sell some tea and teaware. Their prices are not cheap, but the tea is excellent, and you can try some pretty rare teas for not that much more money than trying some of their standard stuff. I have not been there myself, but I have met the proprietors, and have heard many good things, and I think you will not be disappointed.

If you're looking for porcelain, there are some great shops that you'd probably enjoy.

I'm sure folks who have actually visited before will have some more suggestions. I am guessing that some of the shops there might be willing to put you in touch with farmers if you want to visit tea farms / plantations.

thanks for the reply I will deff check out that tea house in Taipei.
I'm also going to Taichung, but don't really know if I have time for a whole day at a tea farm since I'll only be there 6 or so days. That will be for next time around so I won't feel rushed and can enjoy the scenery to its fullest.

I asked a colleague. Stick around Taichung, easily the best metro area to visit in Taiwan. Wide streets, moderate climate (you are going during the dry season with scant precip/sunny days), reasonable prices for goods, services, food, transportation.

I was told there is an 'Old Teashope street' area in Taichung - that would be a good spot to look for tea and teawares. I would contact one or two of the Taiwan tea vendors and ask specifically for teahouse suggestions and their locations.

The city has almost as many coffee as tea houses. It's also the purported origin of Bubble Tea (Chun-Sui-Tang in Taichung).

If was also told there is easy access (day trip) to Sun-Moon Lake, where you can find the famous red teas developed by the national tea institute.
