Ronin, thanks for additional elaboration. I can now see why it is so difficult for Japanese sellers of used teaware to be sure of who the artists were that made them. I have seen some of the signature lists that are published. I'm sure it's just the tip of the iceberg, though.

Nice Butoh clip. We get some good shows here in Bangkok.

I'm not exactly sure if you are trying to find who made a particular piece or not however a book which might help you is entitled 現代陶芸作家事典 Genzai Togeisaka Jiten (Dictionary of Contemporary Potters) ISBN : 4-7694-0078-0. I purchased mine in Japan however you may be able to source it online ie. ABE Books, Paragon Books, or Amazon's Japanese site.

It lists hundreds of Japanese potters as well a showing their chops as commonly found on kibako which they sign and stamp.

This book is out of print so used is probably about all your going to find.
