Smokin' Tea

by chidragon9 » Oct 22nd, '09, 18:34

I realize this might sound highly unorthodox, but please take my question seriously. I love tea, and I am eager to explore it in other ways. Is it possible to smok tea? Do you receive the health benefits? Does the flavor still come through? Finally, are there any unsafe side effects (besides normal smoking side effects)? I was thinking I'd start with a Lapsang Souchong. Thanks, and I can't wait to read feedback!

I was hoping the title was being misleading.

I was absent from here for quite a long time, with just a very short visit a few months back.

There used to be a rash of these topics here. They were deleted. It's because this is not a smoking forum. And the mods didn't want this site to be the first result for people wanting to smoke tea.

There were jokes made, and people were mocked.

Finally someone found a link to a video on Youtube, of some kids smoking tea. They were all screaming, running around trying to be the next to re-light their tea joints ... because they were being relaxed to much.

I guess that explains their erratic behavior. Or maybe it didn't do squat for them.

But to know, you'll have to find a place that talks about what you want. Yes, i do know a place or two. No, I won't tell you. You'll have to run across it online, the way i did.

Oh! Sorry. I didn't know. I just became a member of TeaChat today, and haven't visited it before. I realize I won't 'get high'. I'm not trying to. However, I will delete the post immediately. Thanks for notifying me. I suppose I'll have to find out another way. Thanks! :D

Moderator Post.

8) Actually the original topic still exists, but it is out the sight of google bots, etc as well as the general forum. This topic had been a portal to the alternative drug culture it seemed, funneling them onto the pages of TC like through a star gate. They would pop in, and appear like aliens in a strange land where normal inhabitants brew.

Unfortunately, it was a rather disruptive topic. The overwhelming majority of members prefer to brew versus smokin' their leaves.

For this reason, I have edited the topic title and posts so a google search will not lead others here.

OR

I can simply remove this topic.

Come now. Honestly, if you could "get high" from tea, I think we'd be smoking it rather than drinking it. We do get high when we drink it, off of caffeine, which is the most addictive drug known to man. The method of ingestion, instead of being smoked or insufflated, differs along with the effects, but make no doubt you do get high drinking tea.

I'll give benefit of the doubt....

1. Yes, you can smoke tea in a manner essentially similar to loose leaf tobacco.

2. Smoking tea is not a healthful activity.

3. Don't do it.
