I'll probably be joining you with that.thanks wrote:Hmm, I think I might pick up one of these cakes regardless, and keep it stored airtight away from my pu'er to see how it turns out for a few years.

Re: Yunnan Black Tea Cakes
The mail man just left a box from China with 3 Pu-erh Cakes inside:
2009 Menghai Dayi "Bulang Shan" RAW Pu-erh 357g
2008 Tong Qing Hao "Yiwu Zheng Shan" RAW Pu-erh 357g
2007 CNNP 6821 Yiwu Big Tree RAW Pu-erh 357g

Also a free sample: 2002 Xiaguan "Bao Yan" Tibetan Flame brick.
Just as I poured hot water into my Gaiwan the Microwave went ding.
By the time I got back to the tea it was past the time to dump the
5sec. rinse.

And I'm not throwing away good tea.
The first cup is a little smokey but not too much.
And a little bitter but not too much.
I'm looking forward to the second and third cups. (made right this time)

Re: Yunnan Black Tea Cakes
Cups two and three were a lot better.
I think I should order a couple bricks.
Here's an email I received after posting his feedback'

Other than shupu, the baoyan bricks are the only teas I always give a second rinse.
