Hmmm, I usually do a shorter second steep. Hmmm, maybe a bit more heat?

Many of us like a premo Gyo like the Kame brewed rich, Tsuru is the more expensive version of the Kame. Although I have not tried it yet, I am sure similar treatment would work.
At least 2 grams leaf per ounce of water, think small steeps, like around 3 ounces.
130ish* F, preheating everything!!!
I would think around 90 seconds, and I would expect pretty many steeps.
I guess you meant another seller because I only found:Oni wrote:Try more leaf, 7 grams to 90 to 100 ml, is a little bit less leaf, I use 12 grams to 100 to 120 ml if the gyokuro is very very high quality, and 50 C, but when I use 5 grams to 40 ml I use 40 C, second infusion is 30 seconds, the 12 grams way is the same water to tea ratio, but the temperature makes the diffrence, when using 40 to 45 C the tea is cold and it feels like pearls on the tongue, 1`st infusion, when using 40 C 3 minutes, when using 50 C 2 minutes, second is always 30 seconds, just as marukyu site recomends, 3rd 1 minute, than 1.30, 2, 3.
This is a standard way to prepare Gyokuro. However, it is very much up to personal taste. Depending on the conditions you will have to find your own way to get your favorite look, smell and taste of a particular tea. Please enjoy it the way you like.

You can find some from time to time on ebay for a good price.iheartea wrote: I like your teaware in the picture. May I ask where it is from? It looks perfect for me.

I bought all of them from ebay auctions (high quality porcelain as well so I wouldn't call them cheaper alternative). A tea set analog to yours (same shape, very thin porcelain and nice design) was recently sold at about 60$. I almost bought it but I already have many houhins.Oni wrote:I really like the sometsuke houhin, where can I buy it?
I bought mine from Horaido teashop, these are made excusively for them, as most of the little teaware, it was 20.000 Yen, around 200 Usd + shipping, it is high quality porcelain, it has more of an artistic value, I think if you go with cheaper alternative you`ll be just fine, it is not yixing clay, so I think as long as it resists heat well it is a good houhin.
I think this is part of the attraction for me as wellclareandromeda wrote:I love teaxperimenting! Makes me feel like a scientist.
this tsuru is shy but lovely!
