Congratulations Sarah! It will be two or three more years before I hit it.
A couple of Scotch drinkers have popped up today. Which Speyside do you like Geek? (Oh, I see now: Cragganmore.) One of my favorites, Macallan's, is advertised as a Highland malt, but it's on the Speyside Malt Whiskey Trail. The ethereal bouquet of Oban from West Highlands is another favorite. The lean rich scent of Highland Park is awfully nice too.
I am a TeaWander today. I'm drinking all small brews, started with a 2006 Ban Zhang Ye sheng from Liu Da Cha Shan -- this is still a little harsh but sweet fruit is finally starting to appear. Next up was Lapsang Souchong from Tea Gallery -- sharp tang of pine smoke but with a gentle sweetness behind and gentle on the palate too. In my cup now is a fall 2003 Xi Ping TGY from Jing. The aromas from this aged TGY mixed with the scent of my wife's baking brownies are heady and delightful.
The TGY is slightly ahead as the Tea of the Day, but there is no decision yet.

I started the day with some Kame Jiru gyokuro. Now that I am settling in for the evening I am pondering what tea to reach for: I guess I will go for the Bio Tsing Cha, an organic Chinese tea from my best local teashop (Artee).

In my cup currently - Margaret’s Hope Muscatel from the Lochan
tasting. Very nice, definite muscatel notes.
Enjoy the rest of your TeaDay everyone!

That's one sweet camera! Congratulations!Geekgirl wrote:I got the new Canon 7D. The only fly in the ointment is that Lightroom doesn't yet support the sRAW format, so I have to go the full 18mp/25mb files, and I just can't go back to shooting in .jpg, so I will soon have a HD space issue. Problems, problems...Trey Winston wrote: CoolMay I ask what kind of camera you got?

I enjoyed a cup of the aged Xi Ping TGY with my wife's freshly-backed, not-too-sweet brownies. The tea scents of baked apricot that mingled with the deep chocolaty, toasted walnut-y brownie scents were incredible -- a synergy baked in heaven.
Last tea of the day was the last of my Yame Gyokuro from Tea Gallery, and this was, once again, my tea of the day.
I hope you all have had as fulfilling a Tea Day as I have.

Today is a Chinese day and iced at that. Indian Summer in Chicago. Went to my sister's off Lake Shore Drive near Lake Michigan deep in the city and it got up to 75 degrees. It was a green iced tea kinda day.

I'm away from home at a conference today so I don't know where on earth my tea came from. Had a generic black tea bag this morning just to get me going and a Lipton green tea this afternoon.
I give up tonight. I'm going to take GG's lead and drink a fermented barley based beverage (only carbonated and flavoured with hops).

V, Did you go with their brewing instructions? I've been finding the teas way too strong when I use their parameters.Victoria wrote:In my cup currently - Margaret’s Hope Muscatel from the Lochan

Well today was a split...Chinese in the morning and Japanese this evening. Tomorrow will probably look a lot the same unless I sneak in some oolong too.
I hope everyone has enjoyed a beautiful tea weekend!

Actually no, which is why I haven't been commenting. I was doing them my way, then trying their way, but after a couple, I got lazy. I agree with you, their way is a bit too strong.geeber1 wrote:V, Did you go with their brewing instructions?
