Well, virtually all the prep goes on in the kitchen...since that is a multiple-times-per-day activity, much of the tea and teaware just lives on the counter, either in an in-use state, a drying-after-use state or waiting-to-be-used state!
As far as an area for consuming tea...wherever my cup is sitting is a great place to have tea!
Not a lot of tea today...slept reallly late so no breakfast tea. Back from late lunch (whole family at the same table at the same time, yeah!!!) and I've brewed up a pot of Neela from Tao of Tea.
Have a great week everybody,

Re: Sunday TeaDay 11/08/09 Home TeaSpot?
whereever I am, that's also the place for my tea
I do not have any particular "tea" spot in my home. but on the other hand, I do; since I tend to sit a lot on my desk to read or write. (yes, i have some "first aid" tea pack's at my close friend's houses, too... just in case they run out of tea and i'm around...)

A gifted sample of Tao of Tea Wenshan Baozhong rounded out my afternoon. Pretty good actually. The bribe may be working. Hahaha, just kidding.

A section of our kitchen is dedicated to the preparation of tea and coffee. Our electric kettle is there, and my wife stores her coffee, and I keep my thermometer scale spoons and tongs, there, along with some cups a porcelain pot and a kyusu. It isn't a zen space; it's purely functional.
I drank seasonal Da Hong Pao all morning, and I am just now having Den's Zuiko from Den's! Quite awesome, wow!

My fiance and I recently moved into an apartment so I took over a corner of the kitchen for my tea stuff. I have a small cart that was meant to be a movable island and kitchen work space set up with my Zoji and tea cups. Next to it is my 3-drawer plastic storage unit that holds all of my teas. The rest of the tea ware is displayed on a shelf in our dining room. Tea itself is enjoyed any where in the apartment that I see fit to drink it.
Currently in my cup is the second steep of the Thurbo from the Lochan tea tasting. The first steep was excellent, very light and delicate with a nice complexity. The second steep is more reminiscent of a citrusy Nilgiri.
I am looking forward to trying the Yame Fukamushi from Den's later. The Zuiko was really amazing.

One part of my kitchen counter is kind of my "Tea Station." I still see sandwiches and such being made there, but I guess theres nothing to do about that lol
