Unfortunately I've found another kyusu that I like! What do you think of this?
http://www.everyonestea.com/product/102
It says the material is "stoneware" and states "... Stone ware, which is in between pottery and porcelains wares". What is this material>
Has anyone heard of or ordered from this shop?
Thanks!

For gyokuro? Low flat kyusu -s like this are usually for gyokuro.
I had generally seen "stoneware" indicating ceramic like material versus the clay of Tokoname. It tend to be less porous and is used in a lot of lower end kyusu.
This appears to be a bit different, and is certainly not low end at around 100 bucks.
Very interesting. I will have to check the site, etc out a bit more.

That's a great looking pot! I'm a fan of low flat kyusu. Like the large lid opening too. Nice!

Re: Stoneware kyusu at "Everyone's Tea" - ordered from
TokyoB,
I've been looking at that teapot for a while too. Really nice. I was thinking the same thing, using it for sencha since gyokuro is too expensive to be everyday tea. I also found the same pot by the same artist on artisticnippon.com, under tokoname. I compared the prices and they are the same, including shipping. Just smaller volume from artistic. I plan to buy that one soon.
