Re: Tea and Nausea
I too get nausea from tea/vitamins but only on an empty stomach. Just eat a piece of bread with it or something similar and you will be fine!
Re: Tea and Nausea
i don't take a multivitamin. most all are poorly formulated at best, and have the potential to more harm than good in the long run. many are down right dangerous. so i voted no.
i do get nauseous if i drink tea in the morning before breakfast, but usually only matcha does this to me. all other teas seem to cooperate with my innards. maybe i'd feel sick if i drank like three cups of sencha before food, but i don't so who knows.

Ginger has traditionally been used for stomch upsets ect...thirtysixbelow wrote:I have heard a lot about ginger helping with nausea. I didn't realize that just smelling could help though. I will definitely have to try this. I love the smell of cloves too! ** runs to grocery store **clareandromeda wrote: Also from my experience the smell of cloves and fresh ginger help with the nausea I get from my vertigo....
but now it seems to be more accepted as there are actual mdications with ginger in them like Gravol Ginger (really orverpriced ginger tablets).
I only buy those now because the ginger powder tablets upset my stomach toomuch.
But candied ginger is cheaper and works better also.
the brand from Ginger People is very high quality
their cristalized ginger is amazing and from australia!
I am still surprized people say ginger ale works asit contains no actual ginger.
I was also reading how sugar sodas or drinks can help stomach upsets too...might havetodo withraising blood sugar levelsmaybe?

Re: Tea and Nausea
Matcha is the only one that's bothered me so far. I just make sure never to have it on an empty stomach.
Re: Tea and Nausea

Canada Dry ginger ale is indeed made with real ginger extract. Both the Canadian-version of the FDA and the US version allow ingredients to be collectively labeled as "natural flavoring, extracts or spices" without listing them separately.

Maine Root, (better)
Also check for local artisan brewers.
Re: Tea and Nausea
wow, ginger beer, i never heard of it, hum. i'm trying to imagine what that would be like. i think i got it. it's just, the gravity of this Fantôme Saison sittin in front of me is kinda throwing my imagination off a bit, in a number of ways.
ahh ginger...it's great for many things. i really just cook with it though...which is literally every day now that i've been primarily cooking japanese cuisine for the last four months. i use it to make marinades, salad dressings, garnishes, condiments, ect. everyday i'm either slicing, grating, or pickling it.
btw, if anyone needs to grate ginger often and absolutely dreads doing it, i've got a tip for you. get the kyocera ceramic grater. it's expensive but it's better than a cheap box grater (box grater sux for ginger!), better than a microplane (ok for ginger but dulls quickly), and it will last you for a billion-thousand years!
(as long as you don't break it)
i actually like grating ginger now. cool!

Ginger "beer" actually is non alcoholic. Reeds is great, Jamaican versions are great too. There is this Jamaican restauran by Yankee stadium that makes homemade ginger beer that is basically juiced ginger. It is intense, most people cough the first time they sip it. Its amazing!
