I had an awful time a while ago with Darjeelings. I just did not like them no matter what type I tried. On a whim, hoping to enjoy the other teas in the grouping, I got the tasting sampler from Lochan Teas where half of the samples were Darjeelings. To my complete surprise, these Darjeelings were actually drinkable and not only were they drinkable, they were downright delicious. Second Flush/Autumnal Darjeelings are now ranked very high on my favorite tea list.

And to back up the above paragraph, I am currently enjoying a Castleton Darjeeling.

Great TD continued ... a tasting of Zencha Fuga Limited Edition followed by a tasting of Den's Zuiko ... Hagi Seigan Blue.

Currently sipping some home roasted mugi/genmai in a ChicagoPotter yunomi..
