I have been focused on yixing for the past few weeks mainly because I knew nothing about buying them and wanted to get one and learn about them.

Yixings and gaiwans here, though mostly because I bought what I needed and then stopped. Hm. I'm occasionally intrigued by the hagi offers, but haven't quite yet seen "the one" I want.

I had a "thai iced tea" out this evening, but no other time today to enjoy any tea. ahhhh well, there's always tomorrow.

Ignorance is indeed bliss, for the first time in my life I'm thinking about nice tea canisters.

I was quite happy with my tea cupboard yesterday, no more. I'm blaming it on Oliver.

I started out the day breaking in a yixing pot. Since these days I focus on black tea, I started with Yixing black tea, traditionally used in Yixing for seasoning the pots. And it was delicious, from Tillerman.

Now I'm kicking back with a mixture of chamomile and lavender before bed, very nice and relaxing

Yeah, pretty focused these days, but definitely not exclusive to one type of teaware. Hagi, our Teaware Artisans dominate the list.

Lots of great tea today. Beginning with Hatsumi from O-Cha, followed by Adagio's Fujian Baroque, a tasting of Zencha Fuji SP, and finally Matcha from Zencha with DW.

I just saw some cherry bark that were wood inside, and wow, did they have a strong shellac odor. I have avoided many of these due to that.
What do you think?
I have two types of all wooden canisters, cherry bark and paulownia

They had some wood odor but after about a week with a low grade sencha (received as a gift when ordering some other canisters) in them, the odor disappeared.

Here is a pretty good article on Wiki about Ku Ding, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Ding_tea

Cheers.
ps - I snuck in an ice split full of Jasmine White Peony and a chocolate chip cookie before the ku ding.
While everything else may or may not be true - the claim to alleviate thirst is groundbreaking!
