Re: Favorite Wazuka Sencha ?
Just when I thought I knew pretty much
... never heard of these vendors and only a vague recollection of Wazuka tea in general. Always more to learn. I am reading a bit on the subject presently.
My thoughts in general ...
Some vendors offer tea from a particular region because they have the opportunity to aquire and market such a regional offering and/or they are located in that region. However sometimes a vendor in the USA or Europe will have very limited access and will grasp at almost any opportunity to obtain and market a tea direct from Japan.
I am sure some vendors choose a region specifically and source the teas.
Then other vendors source based on taste/flavor profiles, sometimes seeking a wide diversity of profiles from multiple regions ... or perhaps more aptly stated regardless of the region.
I get a little leary of region specific vendors at times who proclaim their obscure or lesser known region superior to all others. But I generally remain curious enough to give them a try ... once.
I am curious about Wazuka ...

I'm based in NYC , USA , and through the magic of the internet have ordered Sencha direct from Japan , including the legendary shops , and elsewhere.
So far Wazuka Sencha from Postcard Teas in London is my favorite .
What's your favorite Sencha ?

Hailing from PA, near Philly. Without a second's hesitation, Kagoshima prefecture Yutaka Midori direct from Japan, O-Cha.
Around 4ish years ago, Kagoshima was the "obscure or lesser known tea growing region."
But there are always new and interesting discoveries.

I've had both the Wazuka and Mr. Aoki sencha from East Teas (London) and both are superb. The Matsukaze Uji Matcha is also one of the finest I've tasted! One of the owners of East Teas also runs the central london store Postcard Teas which is a great little shop!
