Hot Pots for tea

by marlena » Dec 28th, '09, 15:36

Does anyone use something like the Zojorushi hot pot to keep water hot all day? If so, can you please tell me how it is, tastewise for black, green, oolong? I don't do pu-erh or white, so don't need to know about them. Thanks.

I use a Panasonic Thermo Pot that is a lot cheaper than a Zoji. The features are very similar and I have had good results with whatever tea that I brew using water from it. I haven't detected any sort of off tastes or flat taste to the water. I've been happy with it for several months now.

Yes, I have been using a 4 litre Zoji every day for over 2 years for green, black, puerh, and white tea. I have been very pleased with it. I too have noticed no flatness. Perhaps some with a more refined palate might discern a difference compared to freshly boiled water but I don't. They are very convenient and I would not want to be without it.
