My favorites in December were Chinese oolongs and blacks. I've found that I quite like Keemun.

Not much tea for me today, as I've been slacking. I'd better get on that if I want to stay awake!

Assam Melody, here I come.

I ordered some more tea from Floating Leaves to take advantage of the sale, and my tea of the month was definitely the Shan Lin Xi (spring 2009). Unfortunately I only ordered 2 oz, and now I wish I had ordered more. I also bought 1 oz samples of the the Taiwan Wuyi, Taiwan Shui Xian and Muzhe Tie guan yin. They were all good teas, but I found that I just don't like roasted oolongs as much as the green oolongs.

Floating Leaves teas also dominated December for me. I found the Shan Lin Xi a good high mountain Taiwan oolong, but for me the stars of the show were the Taiwan Shui Xian (those dark chocolate notes, yuummm) and the 2nd Place Baozhong (of an otherworldly feeling of freshness in the mouth). I have been hitting my head against the wall for only ordering 1 oz of each.
