In these days of air conditioning, humidifers and central heating, stable takes on a whole new meaning compared to just keeping it indoors in beijing during the song dynasty.

I think alot of the storage ideals come from everyone (me included) wanting to start with a $8 cake to day and get and "88" cake tomorrow.

That's why I think most of these are storage 'ideas', just pure make believe.... A $8 cake in 30 years will be $80 at best. But a $30 '88' in 30 years could be $3000.

Yes, that's the point. I believe people at all time strive to improve everything and nowadays if they try to stabilize the storage parameter better than before in the song dynasty era, then there might be something good behind it :D
Well.. just my personal opinion.

Honestly I'm not so ambitious about the values after years of storage, rather I'd be happy to "harvest" decent enough teas for the the incoming years, especially if stored by ourselves.
Of course we can't compare the materials in the good old days to the ones we have now, but lets say that I and I believe everyone aim to get the best out of whatever they can grab now.
There're always be possibilities to find the aged tea merely as "expensive grass" (OMTP's TM) at the end of the day, but brainstorming about the storage condition like posted in Chadao really does helpful, especially if there might be some proven ideas to store it better appear during the course.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, everyone :D
