Finum Tea Control

by jester » Jan 13th, '10, 16:01

This came up in my other topic (titled: Question about the IngenuiTEA. Can't post a link: <30 days) but it seemed that new topic would be the ideal place to discuss this.

I was looking at the Finum Tea Control (it's the first one that comes up on google)
The Finum (.8 liter) is about $30 on amazon and it makes 1-4 cups, but it looks like if I only wanted to make 1 cup, the leaves wouldn't have much room to expand. Which is one of the the problems I have with my current tea pot. If anyone has one, how much space is there between the infuser basket and the bottom of the pot? Also what is the approximate diameter of the infuser?

How does the the Finum Tea control compare to the IngenuiTea? The Finum (supposedly) retains heat better, but the IngenuiTea has a lot more room for the tea leaves to expand. The IngenuiTea comes with samples of teas and is about $10 cheaper ($20).

I guess if the Finum retains heat well (about an hour as it claims), I would make more than one cup at a time.

I just can't decide.
