Re: Friday Teaday 1/15/10 Forum Chachachanges?
I am drinking a cup of country peach passion by celestial seasonings.

That makes sense, and I agree.Chip wrote:Also, thanks for the input on the TeaRoom! The TeaRoom is not intended to be "exclusive" nor a clique nor a secret society within TeaChat. But a short time of membership will indicate whether someone is serious about the forum, and not some troll or complete jerk who simply wants to antagonize everywhere else on the forum ... they would not be able to be one in the TeaRoom!

Everything looks good so far. Wow Chip, you must be just cranking away out there. Whew! Much, much props to you! - I very, very much appreciate all you do! Thank you!
I totally agree about the chat - keeping the beasties at bay is a MUST.

I think the formula is a good idea. I'm not saying I should be allowed in right now (I have only been here a month), but I've got over 50 posts, and I think I've proved pretty thoroughly that I'm not trolling or trying to sell you guys anything. I'm fine with waiting awhile, but 5 more months seems a bit high.Chip wrote:The 6 months was an example, could be much shorter, and could be a formula that is countered by other forum activity such as posting. So, maybe someone who does not post much would qualify in 6 months, while a more active member might qualify in a few months.
I wanna to hang out with the cooool kids...
Norbu's Huang Jin Gui Oolong in my new clay cup this afternoon!

Good morning everybody and Ch-ch-ch-Chip!
I'm going to have to look over the changes myself which I have not yet had the opportunity to do! But, having said that, it seems to me that from Chip's description this is all a good thing and good ideas. I'll wait to see the TeaHouse! (or whatever we are going to call it...)
Today, a ch-ch-change of pace for me. I'm drinking "King Chrysanthemum" (a delicious competition winner chrysanthemum) from Red Circle. Soothing and surprisingly warm! Lovely beautiful bright yellow gold color.

Don't know about the TeaRoom thing for members only...I fear that the "conversational" parts of the TeaChat (the best part for me) will wind up there and, thus, lost to the new folks. Or if it is a place for non-tea conversation, I'm not sure that I'll wind up spending much time there...just because "free time" is a limited commodity and I like the tea talk. I think that what we have already is a great mix of tea and non-tea conversation.
Sorry...maybe I just don't like chachachanges.
On the other hand, my new (re-homed) kyusu arrived yesterday and it has already become my "go to" for Japanese greens...that change was easy!
