Well I got me the triniTea maker so I could use it in my dorm to make my tea while I get ready in the mornings for class. I pour the water in at night and in the morning add leaves so all I have to do it turn it on and it's ready to go.
A few issues have arised these past couple of days though. Just a few minutes ago I poured water in the heating chamber and it just leaked right through and got water everywhere. The stopper obviously didn't close from the last time.
Another problem is I find myself making more messes than I did before I had the triniTea. When I go to pour a cup, water tends to run down the side of the pot, not to mention it would be better if the lid was easier to open. Sometimes it's kinda tough to put the pot back on the heating tray. I also find the steeping basket to be kind of a hassle to deal with since I spill leaves when trying to fill it. So at this point, yes I'm finding it to be more trouble than it's worth.
Has anybody else had these issues?
Good thing I'm not the only one!
Yeah if they were to change it back to the way the older version looked, I'd be more likely to buy it again, but not like it is right now. I never owned the older one, but just by its looks it seemed like it was better.
What would be nice is instead of putting an ugly steeping basket in the middle of the steeping chamber, simply place a spot in the center where one of the ingenuiTea filters could be inserted by twisting it in place like a screw. It would make it much easier to clean, plus since the ingenuiTea filters are made of fine mesh it would be ideal for teas like rooibos.
I also realized it said it is capable of making 4 cups. They must mean it holds four 6oz cups because I could only pour three 8oz cups of tea. For me, a 32oz pot would be perfect.
If the designers would simply revert to the old design and add the things mentioned above, plus a digital timer and digital temp control, I think it would get better ratings.
