Ditto...I use weight now for all tea...digital scales are COOL...TeaFanatic wrote:i have recently started to go by weight instead of by teaspoon or tablespoon. I bought a little scale from rightonscales.com which has worked perfectly. I do 3.0 g per cup.

For whites, I use 3-4 grams per 200 ml...and I can get 2-4 very good infusions depending on the what white tea is used.
It is very hard for me to set a rule of thumb tablespoon amount because each white tea variety will have a different density.

I find that a tablespoon for silver needle or white monkey works fine for a 6-8 oz. glass -- and that gives me 2 steepings.
That said, I've ordered a digital scale to play with the accuracy. If
That said -- if you go that route, I'd recommend an accuracy of no less than .1 of a gram, with .05 preferable.

P.S. - The scale arrived. 3-3.5 grams of silver need for a 6-8 oz. glass works for me.
