Hello,
let me shortly introduce myself. My name is Stefan and I've fallen for green tea for half a year now. I particularly like Japanese Sencha. That's why I gave thought to buying a Tokoname Kyusu.
What I wanted to ask you: there are all types of different senchas with different characters and tastes, like Asamushi or Fukamushi. Would you recommend using the same kyusu for all these senchas or does it spoil the taste?
In another thread I read something which sounded quite reasonable to me: using the kyusu for one package of tea, when this is used clean the kyusu properly and then use a new sort of sencha.

I don't think there is any problem using the same kyuusu with different sencha if you rinse well the kyuusu. Tokoname kyuusu are not as porous as yixing.

As long as you are brewing non flavored and non roasted and non grain Japanese teas in it, you should be fine.
There are also glazed kyusu for more varied use without any fear of cross brewing contamination.

I don't think you'd need more than one for just sencha, I don't. But if you drink a lot of sencha it sounds like a decent excuse to buy more.

I have one with metal filter for fukamushi, and one with ceramic ball filter (smaller) for asamushi, and I own a houhin, I use it for special quality sencha, and when I am drinking alone.

Thank you for your answers. I think I'll go for the Kyusu. Whenever I want to buy another one in the future I'll have a good excuse

It's not true that all yixing are porous. Many are not, like zhuni and other higher fired clays.
