Okay, working on Signature Roasted TGY from Just4Tea. Not bad... really warming me up. I'm not really a big fan of roasted oolongs... but yeah... not bad. :)

I use the same teapot, for everything I brew.

Most of the time I just stick with my infuser and cup, but I do have a little glass teapot I use maybe twice a week for those longer nights when I need to keep my mind awake but don't want to have to stop and make each individual cup.

Many, though mostly because I alternate between three infuser basket set ups, plus a kyusu or two for my sencha or gyokuro on the weekends. I also brew in my travel mug with an infuser basket before work during the week. I should be adding one more in a few days. I finally gave in and ordered the chawan I was drooling over on Elmstudio's Etsy site. With the Sakura Sencha now in stock at Den's, I just had to place an order with them so I picked up some organic matcha, the whisk and the scoop along with my yearly two packages of the Sakura Sencha. Sadly the Matcha Miyabi was out of stock, but after Seeker's rave reviews of the Organic Matcha, it sounded like a decent choice. Should be fun!

I was enjoying some genmaicha with matcha earlier this evening. Between that and all the pretty pictures lately, ordering my first matcha was inevitable.

Which Elm Studio Chawan???

Yeah, the Den's Organic Matcha is really quite good! So is the Miyabi when it is available again.

This one! I sat there for a while just getting lost in the green pool at the bottom. It may be a little short height-wise, but the price was right and the green looks gorgeous.

Ah, very nice and almost bought it! But decided on this one: Image

With these neo chawan, I like to whisk the matcha in another bowl (a Korean bowl with a spout that was looking for a purpose!) and then pour into these since they are a bit small and short for whisking. Plus this will help preserve the glass finish ... I think.

4. In order from most used to least I have a glass teapot, gaiwan and 2 yixing teapots I use at least once a week.

The glass teapot is a big 360ml and is used for greens, black, white and herbals. The gaiwan of course can make anything :) but is used most for green oolongs and testing new teas.

The first yixing is a very nice old 125ml Zhuni from around the 80's maybe older. I haven't dedicated it to a specific tea yet but it makes amazing rou gui.

The second yixing is a 110ml yellow di cao qong I use mostly for DHP and other medium roast wuyi.

Taiwanese wuyi today

I prefer to use just few and really get to know them, like good friends.
I really just use one gaiwan and one yixing :P.

Wow. Seriously that is freaking gorgeous.
It's got a real appearance of depth. I can understand how you could just get lost looking into it.
Thanks for the site! Seems like a lot of value for the price, I will have to place an order some day!
