Howdy!
I quit smoking cigarettes 3 weeks ago, and was desperately seeking something to fill the newly created void in my life. Something I could associate with a relaxing break. Tea has satisfied that need and so much more. I just feel all around happier and healthier. (I'm sure most of that can be attributed to the quadrupling of my fluid intake, 5-6 cups a day). I've been drinking loose leaf tea my friend gave to me, and using his little infuser. I ordered a ton of tea from Teavana and Adagio that I am impatiently waiting to receive. I also ordered a very
masculine teapot for myself, hah!
I have, and will have, multiple questions about tea types, preparation, culture, etc.. and I figured I might as well become a part of this community if I'm going to be seeking enlightenment here.
Peace,
Scott

Haha, thanks.. and now I see how "cigarette substitute" could be perceived in two different ways.

I quit when they went $1 a pack.
Yeah 20 years ago, smoked pack+ for 10 years or more.....
It's doable, good luck.

$1 a pack? How much was gas? I say.. I don't know if I could have quit if they were still that cheap now-a-days.
I'm saving so much money now though.. it was $5.25 a pack, smoked a pack a day for 6 years. Now I started setting aside $2.00 a day to put into my "Tea and Tea Things" jar, to reward myself.
..I'm listening to "The Safety Dance" at the moment, it makes me tremendously happy.. it pairs nicely with my chai. I wish I had spent more than 1 year in the 80's.

I smoked while in highschool and college. When I got married, my wife made me kick the habit.
I still miss the flavor of a good cigar, though.
I've found some teas that have a tobacco-like flavor component to them. These have become my go-to teas everytime a feel a craving coming on.
