Otsuusan sencha teabags (Tsuen) are quite good.

Re: Monday TeaDay 2/22/10 Shocker of a topic, teabags?
I cant recall a GREAT experience with a bag of tea, when I was a total newbie I was into Numi and ROT, as far as tisane goes I have had many great experiences with a variety of vendors. oh and right now I am putting Rishi ancient tree pu erh tou cha to the test.

Online vendor - don't remember which tho; received a free sample of sencha in a silk bag. It was pretty good.
Ikuyo matcha, moonlight white.

I actually cut it out of the bag to steep it because I knew there wouldn't be enough room, but if I can still count it, Tea Forte's Silk Oolong was amazing. Same with their Iced White Ginger Pear. Mmm...

There were teabags I used to really like from a company called Revolution. The teabags were the triangle silk bags with some good sized tea leaves inside. I haven't gone to buy it in a while but I would buy it again. They had this Lavender Earl Grey that I really loved.

It's between Den's bagged Sencha and Twining's Lady Grey.. they're so different, it's hard to say which I enjoy more (and also depends on my mood!)
Got braces on this morning, so no time for tea before back-to-back dentist/orthodontist appointments. Got some Caramel Delight as soon as I got to work though. About to leave work, so I'm holding off on another cup until I get home. I'm thinking it's time to try Den's Fukamushi-Sencha Maki.

I also had a pretty good bag from Zencha that they typically include with orders. Speaking of Zencha, began the TD with one of their sencha ... joined by SweeTea while joined by observers Ceylon and Lil Bit.
Next up, Sencha from Den's. Running out of time for another tea ...

Thinking back, I remember in the early 90's, before I was introduced to loose leaf tea, I used to love drinking the original herbal Long Life tea.

I guess Celestial Seasonings herbal teas have to be considered supermarket teas.....have had quite a few happy cups of tea from them, before I moved on to mixing my own, from a set of ingredients mostly inspired by their labels.
Other than that, the best camellia sinensis I've had in a bag would have to be the sencha tea bag from my Dens 'novice sampler.' But I haven't had many other bagged teas that I've liked other than herbal teas; I have had some nice jasmine pearls from 'teteas', but I'm not drinking jasmine so much anymore as it is.
I marked the poll 'specialty store' for the Dens.

This topic is SCANDALOUS!!
Just kidding.
I really enjoy Lyons Gold Blend, and PG Tips is a close second.
Though I have to say that Tazo just changed their teabags, at least a Starbucks, and yes, I'll grab a cuppa while I'm out.
Anyway, the teabags are full leaf now, for a slower steep, pretty tasty.
Almost forgot, I really like ®evolution tea. Their bagged English Breakfast and Scottish Breakfast are AWESOME! Kinda spend for those though, but worth it! Being at the health food store probably has something to do with their price.

About a year ago, we took in a give-away West Highland White terrier, about a year and half old, but neutered. It took a while to train him, as he had been caged most of his early life, but he's turned into one of the sweetest dogs. Good luck with your little guy!artmom wrote:No tea yet today; went to County Kill Shelter and rescued (adopted) a cairn terrier/Schnauzer year old male. He'll need housebreaking, socializing, everything. Poor thing had been left out in a yard with his siblings and not much human contact. Our beloved Muppet died on New Year's Eve and we miss her. Right now, he's being neutered (sorry, guys![]()
) and we'll pick him up from vet. Wonder if he'll like tea?
Best tea bag that I have had was Stash's Holiday Chai. It's a masala chai blend with hints of vanilla and rum. There's just something about it that is delicious with a bit of milk and sugar. It is the only tea bag tea that I currently drink.
Right now, I am enjoying a strong cup of Earl Grey.

The only 2 I can think of are harney and sons assam and really any herbal teas are ok in bags. I can think of many terrible teabags and not many good ones.
Re: Monday TeaDay 2/22/10 Shocker of a topic, teabags?
Since I've only just started trying non-grocery store brands (I didn't really have the money before,) I've only tried one specialty bagged tea: Republic of Tea's key lime hibiscus. I like it, but then I like hibiscus in general.
And it brews up such a pretty color!

I am a relatively new tea-drinker, but the two bagged teas I've liked were Good Earth's Vanilla Chai and Chai teas, and Gypsy Teas' Coconut Chai tea. My mother also got me some Celestial Seasons Rooibos Coconut Chai, but it has a weird ginger-citrus flavor, it isn't bad, but it is kind of weird.
As for bagged teas I dislike, my sister always gets me Bigelow brand tea for occasions like birthdays or Christmas, I don't know why but it is the most astringent tea I have ever tasted. I only taste the artificial flavorings or whatever they put on it, and they have one that was "Almond Vanilla" or something, and it tasted like play dough. I guess it's (hopefully) pretty cheap though, so I can't expect it to be spectacular.
