I really like the 100g package for sencha. I feel like it is just the right amount of tea to understand a tea but not become bored. I felt like ordering some fuka midori from Den's, but I am kinda put off by their small packages (50g). When I first ordered, this was great because I could order a bunch of different teas for cheap, but now that I've tried their teas I am not at all motivated to buy a 500g pouch. I realize I could buy two 50g, but it feels like a waste.
Forgive me if this has been done recently.

Re: Sencha Package Size: Preference
I'm a 50g fan. That seems adequate for me to try out a tea a few times and decide if I want to upgrade to the Big Gulp size

Re: Sencha Package Size: Preference
I like the 50g packages because I have less worry that they'll go stale before I finish them. At present rates of consumption, I think I can get through a 100g package, but I avoided ordering packages that large my first few times because I wasn't going through them very quickly.
Re: Sencha Package Size: Preference
For varieties sake I like 50g packages. If I have three 100g bags of sencha combined with all the other teas I drink...a decent amount will go stale. I wish O-cha sold in 50g increments.
Re: Sencha Package Size: Preference
50g. It is ideal with eight to ten sessions per package, even if it costs a little more.

Actually some are in 50 grammers. A few organics and Gyokuro for instance.puerhking wrote:For varieties sake I like 50g packages. If I have three 100g bags of sencha combined with all the other teas I drink...a decent amount will go stale. I wish O-cha sold in 50g increments.
This question, I answer 50 or 100 grammers. It depends on the tea. If it is a sencha costing $30 or more per 100 grams, I might like the 50 gram option. If it costs less, 100 grams is generally acceptable.
I too like variety, but I understand the need for the 100 gram bag in most cases. I will w/o fail finish a sencha in 30 days or less regardless. And regardless, I typically only open around 2-3 sencha at a time or less.
Re: Sencha Package Size: Preference
Well I am surprised that the 50 gram crowd is larger. I guess Den's is doing something right in that regard. However...500grams for the next largest size. I wonder how many people buy those. I would consider buying 200grams of a cheap daily sencha, but that is even a little bit too much for freshness' sake.
